Phang Nga Bay is famous for the sheer limestone cliffs that jut vertically out of the emerald green water. A very beautiful place! Its been used in quite a few films. The most famous one being James Bond - The Man with the Golden Gun.
This is a jetty on the eastern coast of phuket where we board the boat to Phang Nga Bay.
 
Here you can see the long tail. The long rod on which the propeller is mounted.

Canoes. This is how we could explore the islands.
 
And off we go. This first island is called Koh Hong. Koh means island in Thai.
 
 
Into a cave . . .
 
Hows that for a non-horizontal water surface. The boat rocked.

Around the islands are very beautiful and peaceful.

So you go through this cave-like entrance
 
and voila! you're on the inside. And you can look up and see the sky.
 
and there are lots of passage ways
 
and arch ways to navigate. Its so peaceful cause the only way you could get there was by canoe.
 
This is the big boat that took us around the islands. They served a lovely lunch and snacks on board.
 
There are literally hundreds of islands. Some small, some big.

This is James Bond Island. From the film - the man with the golden gun. The thai name for it is Khao Ping Gan.
 
The we moved on to Bat Cave Island. In through this little 'entrance'
 
It was pitch black on the inside with lots of bats. But eventually we made it out of the cave and into the lagoon.
 
These are some of the bats that didn't mind the sunlight so much
 
Mangrove trees and all are on the 'inside' of these islands
 
Peaceful and Beautiful
 
This is Koh Panak. We stopped off here for a bit of relaxation and sunbathing.
 
And then it was time to go back to Phuket.
