Shortbread

There seems to be a few things that go by the name of shortbread.

First you have the type you get at most bakeries. It comes in a slab and its quite crumbly and not overly sweet. It usually comes with added cherries or chocolate or can be plain.

Then you have the ones that are more like cookies. These are especially common in tins around Christmas.

Then there's Scottish shortbread. I'm still not sure if that just the proper name for the crumbly type from the bakers or something different altogether.

I found a recipe and was gonna make some shortbread this weekend but I got confused over the different types of shortbreads. I only like the baker type . . . slab of crumbly shortbread. But since I couldn't guarantee that the recipe was for that type, I abandoned the entire project. I shall make bread pudding instead!!
